Last fall, the Slow Food on Campus network banded together and engaged in programming directed by the national office that took aim at the current food system. The campus network began to connect the dots between other environmental and social ills and food. This spring, the national programming will continue to connect the network of campus chapters with ideas, organizations, issues, people and campaigns that are working to change the food system. It is an exciting time to be a young person trying to change the world and we are all curious to see how the Slow Food on Campus network will continue to add to the movement this spring.
In March, Slow Food on Campus chapters are learning more about Terra Madre by connecting with delegates in their regions. The Terra Madre network brings together farmers, cooks, activists, and educators from around the world to collaborate on forming a more sustainable food system. We are sure that the Slow Food on Campus members will have much to learn from the Terra Madre delegates- all of them notable sustainable growers, gatherers, and producers.

In February, we have partnered with United Students for Fair Trade (USFT) to help Slow Food on Campus chapters organize Fair Trade events in honor of Valentine's Day. Fair Trade is a movement and a market based approach to trade that is getting more traction with students on campuses around the country and this month, our campus network will turn its attention to the issue as well.

In January, the Youth Programs Team partnered with Sustainable Table to develop a Film Guide that accompanies The Meatrix Films, which many of Slow Food on Campus chapters are screening during a chapter meeting.
